Day 15: A picture of someone who inspires you

Sorry I have been away for a few days..the internet hasnt been working. Anywho, today my task was to talk about someone who inspires you. In everything he does, he has such confidence, compassion, and poise. His life is fully committed to Jesus and he is always reminding me that the work we complete on earth is not for us but for our Father in Heaven. My dad has such strength and is such a hardworker. He has worked so hard to make his dreams come true and he has done it with such excellence. His acceptance of people and lack of judgement drives me to want to be a better person. He always brings me back to reality and reminds me to say sane and his words can always calm me. He is such an amazing father and friend. Plus, just look how cool he is!!

Day 14: The top three songs you love listening to

Easy task. Recently, I have had these three songs playing on repeat:

"Somewhere with you" by Kenny Chesney

"Marry me" by train

"Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat

They are in no particular order, I love them all equally..

Day13: A picture of something you want to do before you die

What I really love to do is to travel. There are many many places I want to go and many things I want to do. On the top of my travel lists are Greece and Italy. Another thing that I couldn't forgive myself if I never did is swim with the dolphins. I don't know what my fascination with this is but I have wanted to do it ever since I was a little kid. There is just something about the creature that is so soothing and comfortable. I almost came close to my dream in New Zealand, but they did not want to go out because they hadn't spotted dolphins in a few days. total bogus. Anyway, this is the thing I think I would choose. A simple task but a honest dream.

Day 12: a picture of someone who you cannot imagine your life without

my precious boyfriend. How cute is he? of course, there are many people that I cannot imagine my life without and i consider myself to be so blessed to surrounded by so many wonderful people. Lately though, Kris has been my rock. He always knows the right things to say and the best ways to bring light back into my life at times of darkness. We have so much in common and I am totally smitten with the kid. Here is a little poem I wrote for him for Valentines Day, its quite mushy, so if you don't like that sort of thing, exit now. On another note, I am going to see Andy Roddick play today and then have a little slumber party at my friend Brooke's house. I could not be more excited! I hope everyone has a perfect, relaxing weekend.

My Mushy Poem:
I love you on my good days and on my bad. I love you when I am happy and when I am sad. I know that I will love you more tomorrow and that you take me to a place where there is no sorrow. I love that your favorite part of the day is when you get home to see me, even though you know I will be planted in front of reality t.v. I love how you say exactly what you feel and you tell me that what you say is nothing but real. I love that you pre school pamper and that you dress like Steve Erwin and that you always miss little hairs when shaving your chin. I love that I know when I wake up, I was by my best friend all night and that you don't want to disturb me by turning on a morning light. I love how you cant stop watching a good show and that when something exciting happens you turn to me and say "whoa." I love that you want to take me to nice dinners, even though we know it doesn't happen much because of my jitters. I love that you say I am your favorite thing in this world and that we share our love for the good Lord. I love how we look at each other with such glee like we just decorated a beautiful Christmas tree. I love the way you smell and the way you hate cleaning the forman, good thing you don't leave the trash outside for our imaginary doorman :) I love the way you treat me and the joy you bring, and the way you love to hear my monotone voice sing. Most of all, I love us together and I know we are meant to be, God has blessed me with an amazing boyfriend, how did I get so lucky?

Day 11: A picture of your favorite band or artist

So since I was little, I have always been a huge Beatles fan. Obviously by having one of their songs on my blog, I love listening to any of their songs. It takes me back to the days when my mom would turn it on while she was cleaning the house and my brother and I would start dancing around with her. In the summer, she would let us roll down the windows in the car and listen to them at full blast. There are so many great memories that I remember whenever I hear their songs and I think thats why I love them so much. Plus, they are incredibly talented.

Day 10: A few of your favorite things

My number one favorite thing is home decor. I love decorating and making a home feel like it is totally yours. I constantly look for decor that reflects the person I am and I find peace when a room is perfectly designed. This is one of my favorite things, just a little place in my bathroom, I put candles on it when I take a bath. I think it looks so feminine and I absolutely love it.

Another thing I love is stationary and cards. I love finding out of the ordinary, creative cards. I think it is so special when a card can speak for you. One day I would love to have my own invitation, stationary, card store..ohhh the lifeee that would be. This is the card I got Kris for Valentines Day.

Of course another one of my favorite things is summertime. I love everything that accompanies warm weather; the beach, shorts, dresses, cool drinks, new tans, grilling out. simply everything.

Finally, I am a total fashionista. I love to shop and love clothes. It is a very bad addiction considering one day I will probably be a teacher which doesn't support this addiction very well.

Day 9: something you hate

When Chris Harrison says, "Ladies, Brad, this is the final rose." We are all glued to the television...we know.

Valentines Day Love

Before I continue onto my next challenge for the day, I wanted to have a shout out to the best boyfriend in the world. Kris is honestly the kindest person I have ever met and he is so good to me. I laugh hysterically with him and he is as weird as I am. I know that I can always trust him and be comfortable with him. He knows everything about me and is totally fine that I usually act like I am 10. He is genuine and thoughtful at all times. He is so reassuring and inviting and I could not have asked for anyone better to have entered my life at a better time. That creepy crush I had on him all through college really paid off..I love him today and every day.

Now, back to the challenge....Day 8: A picture of the person you do the craziest things with. Well you are going to think I am totally obsessed with her, which, lets be honest, I kind of am. But it is AMY. Throughout college, we always did the weirdest, craziest things together and I think that's what made our friendship so interesting. From buying fanny packs together to screaming raps songs while new boyfriends were on the phone with their dads to drinking wine while studying for our hardest final in college, she definitely wins the prize. There is no moment of us doing something silly that I would ever want to take back. I think we could honestly write a book about all the crazy things that have happened to us over the last few years. Amy, thanks for being such a great friend. Oh, and thanks for letting me use your sock as toilet paper that one time.

Day 7: A picture that makes you laugh

Ohh baby kenz. Usually Kenzie is the reason I am laughing. She is the sweetest, funniest, cutest (although I am biased) dog I have ever seen. Over the summer, a bunch of friends and I decided we should take a trip to Charleston. Of course, we brought Kenzie along..which seemed like an ok idea at the time. However, we didn't realize that our condo would have absolutely no place near it for animals to use the restroom. Kenzie was behaving pretty well until her stomach decided not to agree with her. The nearest thing to her happened to be Amy's purse and she decided to use that as her toilet of choice. Instantly, I snatched her up and my first thought was to run to the bathroom. So, here is a picture of my attempt of trying to get Kenzie to use a human toilet to finish her business. She was quite upset from the gesture and I just had to laugh at the situation. The room burst out into laughs as poor Kenzie felt so embarrassed. Now, every time I look at this picture, it brings me straight to laughter. I love this wittle pup and ALL the joy she brings.

Day 6: A person you would want to switch places with for a day

KELLY RIPA!! I think that Kelly Ripa not only has a dream job, she also seems to have everything together. I like how she is so down to earth and sticks to who she is at all times. She definitely has a positive personality which is so refreshing. Not to mention she has a gorgeous hubby!

MY NEW FAVORITE READ!

I know this is my second blog today and I totally have no life, but i am SO EXCITED right now! I llooove when people create new blogs and love it even more when i get to follow it from day one. My very best friend in the entire world finally fell into the addictive phenomenon that we all know and love so much. She is one of the most hilarious people I know and I always share stories about her on my blog. Make sure to check her out because her blog is going to be so stinkin' funny. The address is: http://amylu87.blogspot.com/

Day 5: A picture of your favorite memory

Again, today's task was a struggle. I have so many great memories that picking one was very difficult. One of my favorite memories by far though was going to Australia and playing with the kangaroos! I had always dreamed of going to Australia, even when I was young. When I was younger, I believed that kangaroos were as tall as me! Its amazing how little and sweet they are. My favorite part was seeing the little joeys in the mama's pouch. The joeys are quite possibly the cutest things I have ever seen.

Day 4: A picture of your favorite night

This one was really hard to choose. I have plethora of favorite nights and ones that I will never forget. I think the thing that makes nights so great is friendships. I would have chosen the pinecrest party night but I didn't really have any pictures from that night. That night I finally got the courage to talk to Kris and Amy and I ended up having pizza and beer by ourselves at Little Italy after sitting in a bush for about 30 minutes. However, since I didn't have any pictures from that night, I decided on this night. Here, we were in cancun for spring break. This particular night we were at a place called CoCo Bongo. It was unreal and I have never seen anything like it. Meredith begged us at the end of the night to use the dollar she had for a McDonald's hamburger instead of using it for the bus ride home. Good thing we were wise friends and strongly advised her against that decision. I treasure these memories so much and will not be forgetting them anytime soon.

Day 3: A picture of your favorite television show and its cast

OF COURSE my favorite television show is Modern Family. I am so so obsessed with this wonderful comedy. I could watch it all day every day. I laugh hysterically to it each time I watch it, even if I have already seen the episode. My favorite character is Cameron, he is hilarious. Also, I dream of having a marriage like Phil and Claire's. If you haven't checked it out, please do, I promise you will laugh!

Day 2: A picture of you and someone you have been the closest to the longest

So, today's challenge was easy peasy. It asked me to find a picture of the person I have been closest to the longest. Of course, it would be my parents. I love my dad to pieces, but it is my mom and I who have became best friends over the years. Whenever I need help, she is there. Whenever I am happy, she is there. Whenever I am sad, she is there. No matter the occasion, I can always count on my mom to be there. She is such a strong woman and I admire her in every way possible. I love you mom!

30 Day Picture Challenge

So I decided to spice my blog up by doing a 30 day picture challenge. Each day the challenge has me post pictures that describe who I am and the things I like. I thought that this would be a really fun way to keep me committed to keeping up with my blog. So, here goes nothing.
Day 1: A picture of yourself with 10 facts

1. I am a very passionate person. I love being loved and telling people that I love them. I never think a day should pass that someone doesn't know how much you care about them

2. I am addicted to checking my email. I check it at least every 30 minutes

3. I am a total reality junkie. I love every show on Bravo and E!

4. I am a firm believer in following your dreams. We only have one life to live and we should be doing what makes us happy.

5. I love being the baby in the family. I get to learn from my older siblings and I have the joy of experiencing their accomplishments and seeing what the future could bring for me.

6. I think writing is therapeutic.

7. Listening to music is my favorite pastime. I could just sit and listen to music for hours.

8. I like reading celebrity magazines and home decoration magazines. I pick them up whenever I am at the grocery store.

9. Family is the most important thing in my life. I know that wherever I go in life and whatever I do, my family will be supportive.

10. I could probably eat an entire box of Trader Joes sea salt chocolate almonds in one day. They are my favorite snack!

Fit February

Unfortunately, it's that time of year again. Last year Amy and I started a tradition that I intend to keep. We called this tradition, Fit February. By our definition, Fit February is the month we say goodbye to those few extra pounds that we let latch on during the winter months. I think that staying in shape is not only good for your body but also for your mind. I feel like I think so much clearer when I exercise. It really helps my days feel like they are more productive. I am not one of those people who like to workout, in fact, I hate the sight of a treadmill. However, Amy and I figured it is one month, the shortest month of the year and we were going to commit. I think that we did an excellent job last year (she better than I). Since last year was successful, I have decided to do it again this year. My goal is to try to do some kind of workout or physical activity each day and eat healthy. I started yesterday and my challenge continues until Feb 28. I will need all the encouragement I can get, so stay posted!
